Delegate LaRock and Mayor Fraser Announce Broadband Town Hall Meeting for May 16th in Purcellville

Delegate Dave LaRock and Purcellville Mayor Kwasi Fraser announced today that they will be hosting a “Broadband Town Hall Meeting.” The event will take place at the Carver Center in Purcellville, with doors opening at 6:30pm, and formal presentation and discussion from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.

The event will bring state and local elected officials together with the public and representatives of broadband providers in the area.

We’ll look into a variety of topics related to needs and offerings in the local area and take a big picture look at progress on improvements that impact the daily lives of people in the 33rd District, including Western Loudoun, Clarke and Frederick County residents.

Purcellville Mayor Kwasi Fraser says, “Purcellville is challenged with a unique set of needs as an economic hub for both rural and urban services. From my twenty years of experience in the telecommunication industry, I understand that the development and accessibility of broadband will have a major effect on the quality of life in Western Loudoun for both commercial and personal purposes. I am an advocate for rural broadband through the incorporation of fiber and wireless technology and I look forward to the opportunity to discuss the myriad of opportunities.”

Delegate Dave LaRock (R-33) added, “Broadband facilitates business activity, education, entertainment, healthcare, and other vital services available through the internet. Meeting with the public in this broadband town hall, and others in the future, will help identify and address the need to deploy broadband into all rural areas in the district. I hope constituents will come out to this event to be updated on the efforts to extend broadband throughout the district and to share insights on their needs and ideas."
