DAVE LAROCK SPEAKS OUT ON AGRICULTURE AT FARM BUREAU MEETING

Berryville, VA – Dave LaRock, 33rd District candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates, met with members of the Farm Bureau at their annual meeting Tuesday evening on the grounds of the historic Clermont Farm in Clarke County . Dave, a small farm owner and small business owner in Loudoun County, expressed his support for efforts to keep farming economically viable.

“Agriculture and forestry combined are Virginia’s largest industry, and they support many other industries. They are extremely important as job-creators and in sustaining local communities. That makes agriculture and forestry extremely important to me. I will support fair and science-based regulation, and I believe open space easements have their place in Virginia,” LaRock said.

“My own property is in a Land Use Assessment Program, and I believe this type of program helps offset the financial pressure put on farmers and landowners by development. It encourages activities such as farming, that are beneficial to the community overall. My highest goal is to exercise fiscally responsible budgetary management. This means spending must pass the test of having a solid return. I am sure we can protect the interests of farmers while managing the state budget wisely.”
