I hope you’re ready for summer because it’s getting hot out there. Just like you, my family and I are looking forward to a great summer.
For us, its campaign time again. So we’ll be attending many parades and events over the next few weeks. I hope to meet many constituents in person. There is important work yet to be done. Rest assured, I’m ready and willing to continue working hard for you.
Here’s some good news: Just a short time ago I was designated as the Republican candidate for Delegate in the 33rd House District. There will be no contentious Republican primary, because the people of the district are generally satisfied. I am in a solid position to win re-election this November.
The not-so-good news is this: Two Democrats are opposing me for the 33rd House seat, and while I served in Richmond, my opponents amassed close to $200,000. Why is so much money pouring into their campaigns? The answer is simple. Voters elected me to be a strong leader in the fight to protect our conservative values. I have delivered the Rock-Solid Conservative Leadership I promised. The big government promoters know I won’t give up, so they want me out.
One woman is a retired New York City banker, the other is a young woman who works as a sheep farmer and is a regular at many protests.
As I gear up to run a campaign to win reelection and stay on the job, I need to ask for your support.

Transportation: Problem Solving and Promises Kept
“Four years ago I came before the voters of the 33rd District, challenging the status quo transportation funding policies that sent our taxes to other parts of the state while leaving us sitting in traffic. I called out projects like the Dulles Rail Project, Coalfields Expressway, and Rt. 460 which would spend billions of dollars without fixing congestion. Here we are four years later, and where do we stand? We are seeing big progress.”
Eagle Scout presentation:
On May 13th, Del. Dave LaRock was honored to join Purcellville Mayor Kwasi Frazer at the Court of Honor for Eagle Scout Robert Scott "Scotty" Hill. I presented Scotty with a flag flown over the Virginia Capitol. Congratulations to Scotty, and his parents Tom and Deb. Thank you for your service to our community!
National Capital Friends of NRA put Del. LaRock in Hall of Fame for outstanding leadership:
Del. Dave LaRock attended a National Capital Friends of NRA banquet on Thursday and was honored to be admitted into their Hall of Fame for outstanding Leadership. It was a treat to meet many outstanding defenders of the Second Amendment, including Congressman Dave Brat, all for the purpose of fundraising for the NRA Foundation's educational work in our community.

This week the Family Foundation of Virginia released their legislators score card and gave Del. Dave LaRock a 100% grade for the 2016–2017 term. You can see the rankings here.
Del. LaRock opposes Washington DC passing off their financial obligations to Western Loudoun
Four years ago, the sales tax in Loudoun County was raised from 4% to 5%. Now, Washington DC wants to force another 1% sales tax on Loudoun, specifically to pay for the failing Metrorail system. In fact, their proposal would put Virginia on the hook for more than DC and Maryland combined! Loudoun and Fairfax Counties and Dulles Toll Road users are already paying $6 billion+ to build the rail line less than two miles past Dulles Airport. Del. Dave LaRock is fighting against this tax hike which would require my constituents to pay a tax for decades-old Metro repair bills on a system few of them use. We need citizens to sound the alarm! Virginia Chamber of Commerce grades Del. Dave LaRock at 99% in annual Legislative Report Card
The Virginia Chamber of Commerce releases an annual Legislative Report Card, which grades legislators based on their support of pro-business issues during the General Assembly session. The Legislative Report Card recognizes legislators for their support for the principles and initiatives outlined in Blueprint Virginia: A Business Plan for the Commonwealth. Now in its sixth year, the 2017 legislative report card also includes lifetime grades along with the grades for the most recent legislative session. Honoring veterans at Greenwood Baptist Church
It was an honor for Del. Dave LaRock and son John and to spend Friday afternoon with many distinguished Veterans at a luncheon for them sponsored by Greenwood Baptist Church in Frederick County. Memorial Day is coming soon and is a reminder of the debt of gratitude we owe all who have served us well.
Top of Virginia Building Association Legislative Breakfast
On Tuesday morning, Del. Dave LaRock spoke at a panel discussion sponsored by the Top of Virginia Building Association during their Legislative Breakfast at the George Washington Hotel in Winchester. The event was well-attended by many business leaders from firms connected with the building industry in the area.
Rt. 7 / Battlefield Parkway Interchange
On Tuesday evening, Del. Dave LaRock met with Virginia Department of Transportation staff at a public information meeting to look at plans to replace the traffic signal at Route 7 (East Market Street) and Battlefield Parkway with an interchange to reduce congestion and improve traffic operations. Four design alternatives for the interchange are being considered as part of the preliminary design phase of the project. Comments may be sent to VDOT by May 31, 2017. Commencement remarks at the HEARTS for the Lord home school high school graduation
Last Friday I delivered the Commencement remarks at the HEARTS for the Lord home school high school graduation. The graduates and parents had a wonderful evening and I encouraged the students to seek Godly wisdom, especially from Proverbs 3:1-15 and by doing that they are promised prolong your life, peace and prosperity, love and faithfulness, favor in the sight of God and man, health to your body, fearlessness, good sleep and wealth more precious than rubies.

Purcellville Music & Arts Festival
