While there are many solutions to challenges in the works it is a huge moment when a project is completed, proving that when we listen to you and work together, we get things done.
This month, ahead of schedule and on budget, the Town of Hillsboro held the ribbon-cutting for their Rt. 9 project, which removed a traffic light in this highly-congested corridor.
Yesterday was the ribbon-cutting for the Rt. 7 interchange at Battlefield Pkwy, which is now open, giving drivers an attractive alternative to the over-priced Greenway by making Rt. 7 a stoplight-free drive from Countryside in Sterling to Berryville in Clarke County.
Most of the funding for both projects came from the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA), funded by regional taxes.
While there are more projects that need to be completed in our area, unfortunately, money is in short supply. Too much state money is going to areas closer to Washington, DC.
With your help, I will keep fighting to fix the system so we can fix our roads!
